German gretel theme photoshoot plus chocolate!

Yesterday I had worked with model Yaya for a German gretel themed photoshoot. I implemented my very basic 3 light setup which set interesting higlights in the background and one key light illuminating Yaya. It was a fun experience working with Yaya again as she brings great energy onto the set and was just as perseverant as I was to get as many quality shots as possible. So far we have not been let down :) Photos turned out great! The next few days I will be processing these photos and posting them on here.

Apart from the German gretal theme we also experimented with another shot. This time messier than ever. I have been wanting to experiment with different types of content in my photography. I mean this in the way of moving aside traditional style portraits and full-length body shots to adding more features into the photo. Whether it by adding props etc. I just have been wanting to generate a different look. So for this photoshoot, I did not add any other objects, haha, but wanted to experiment with other elements.

I saw in an FHM 2010 calender that is hanging in my room a very beautiful and interesting picture. It was of a model who is in a bikini and her body has been drizzled on with chocolate syrup. Some people may find this type of image a little objectifying of women but come on, this is an FHM calender so what do you expect.

Anyways, I found this photo very cool and wanted to see if I was up to the task to imitate this situation which is what I did yesterday. I can say it was a messy situation and it was risky with the fact that the chocolate could have dropped all over the seamless paper roll which would not have been a very good thing, not to mention Yaya's sad face with chocolate running onto her jeans, sorry. The result though turned out terrific and I will post the images when I get around to processing them. So overall Yaya and I had another successful session at the studio spanning about 1 hour and a half which isnt too bad.

Below is my first processed photo of the German gretel themed photoshoot.
