Smarty Pants Objects

As we grow we learn new things. And it is something that should be aimed for in our day to day life and also our profesional careers. This ensures opportunities will be at reach as we continue to strive for the better. So let me get to the point, I have learnt how to use smart objects in photoshop. Haha! It is just another thing I have added to my creative arsenal and it is definately going to increase productivity when working in photoshop.

So how did I find out how to use smart objects and what are they? Well, with most things that I am curious with, I google it. There is the saying: "Seek and you shall find" which is exactly how this went down. I found a tutorial online via facebooks' Adobe Photoshop fan page. On this page I found a lot of useful resources submitted by other creative peers who have voluntarily provided their techniques to the public. So I would personally like to thank Mohammad Jeprie for teaching me how to use smart objects and also being able to make the image you have seen above. This image is pretty much a direct replica of Mohammad’s creation. They say imitation is a form of flattery, I hope this serves justice. If you would like to also learn how to create amazing artworks like this than go to this website which has more creative tutorials that you may also like.

So what is a smart object? In the simplest terms that I feel describing to people is that a smart object on photoshop is an object that can be altered on a seperate image document and automatically applied on another image document. I suppose there could be more to it but that’s all I got. In this tutorial I was able to create a layer, convert it to a smart object, duplicate the layer multiple times on my working image document and alter the smart object and watch all other smart object layers alter in real-time. Yes, this sounds kind of complicated, but I encourage you to do this tutorial to get a grasp on the concepts while also achieving a cool looking graphic.

So overall, I thought this was a very useful tutorial and I recommend it for its technical aspects and creativity. I would also like to commend Mohammad on his creative work. Thanks mate and keep up the creativity.
