My fellow QUTopians, we meet once again

To my fellow readers, I apologize at the lack of content these past couple of months. I have been really slack and I sincerely do apologize. Let's just say I have been quite busy with intensive photographic assignments that have kept me up till way early in the mornings amoungst a mass amount of youtube and facebook procrastination. Needless to say, who could blame me, in such a digital society that we now live in, I'd find this highly interesting to believe I am the only heavy consumer of such social media. Anyways... :)

It was that time of the semester where I ventured into the land of QUTopia. If you are not familiar with what this is, it is a market simulation for QUT students to test out marketing strategies to improve sales in whichever product they decide to provide to the customer, usually decided upon by the team throughout the semester. I've been the photographer for this event for the past 2 semesters and I must say, it is one event that I continually look forward to photographing. This semester I believe was quite different to other semesters, and not just because of date wise you smarty pants. Mainly in the fact that the stalls were more unique and covered a wider range of products and services. A lot more stalls this time around were quite interactive and competitive with the incentive to win bigger prizes. Such stalls were the beer pong stalls, and also the video game and Guitar Hero stalls. Other than those, there were masseuses and fun photography services (likeIt QUTopia) which I happened to win 2 free movie tickets from. Yes! Time to go see some sweet movies!

These stalls as a whole brought an amazing atmosphere that provided fun and laughter throughout, although possibly stressful for the students, was entertaining for the customers. Apart from the interactive services, we can not forget the other stalls, the consumables. The things we look around QUTopia for and take home as memorabilia or to devour on the spot. Yum!

As usual, I was not disappointed here either, there were plenty of things to buy! The chocolate fondue was to die for! I also thought the pen holders shaped like humans were very creative and I had to buy one just for the fact that it was so unique. Another item I had to buy was from the birdcage stall as the items on sale were beautiful! Hand crafted and generally were an item most likely difficult to find anywhere else.

Overall, I had a terrific experience once again covering the event, it was fun as always and as long as Im taking photos, it helps me to develop my creative eye, attention to detail and increasing my instinct to capturing those decisive moments that really seize the essence of the event. Here are a select amount of photos from the event. Till next time friends!!!
