QUTopia Market Day 2 a Success!

Another hectic and fantastic day at the QUTopia Market Day. All the stalls stepped up their game. They plotted new strategies to gain more customers, interacted more with the other businesses to improve networks, gave away more free samples and were generally having a great time. So overall, the atmostphere was great! I got more photos of interaction between business and customer generally to demonstrate their willingness and enthusiasm to engage in sales. I thought since this is a Market simulation, why not take photos of how things are happening. I believe I have captured this in my photos, well I would hope so ;) You be the judge.

I would have to say, there were a few businesses that stood out for me. First would be Red Lite Breakfast. They were so genuinely polite to me, the product wasnt the most desirable to me but because they were so nice, and they made a great effort to tell me about their product and the benefits I was sold, an easy 10 dollars for them. What was even better was that since I had a camera in my hand constantly I wasnt able to carry the products I bought from them. They were so kind to offer they would hold it somewhere safe for me until my hands were free. Eventually at the end of the day I found out they were looking everywhere for me, and since i was constatnly moving around I wasnt able to pickup my products from them. They found me and brought me the products 15 minutes after the event had finished. In other words, they were still pretty much in their role as a business when everyone else was packed up. I admired this, they had put the customer first which is a big plus in anyones book. So well done to Red Lite Breakfast. I hope you do well.

The other business I found great would have to be Frill Seeker. From my interactions with this business they were all very polite and attentive when I asked them questions. When they were doing a video interview they noticed a customer looking at a product, they excused the interview to speak to the customer. Possibly a mild interruption to the interview but they put the customer first which is great in any business especially retail. Last saturday their products sold out by the end of the day. This gathered a lot of insight to other business and future customers. People recognised the products were of great quality and were unique, thus today, people knew where to shop and I would have to say just past half of the market day session all their products were sold. Amazing! Good and useful products sell, they knew their target market and aimed to provide. They succeeded so congratulations to them too.

So overall the day was a success also for the QUTopia Media Crew :) I would just like to thank my entire team for the experience to work with such kind, and enthusiastic members of society. We were in this together and Im sure we have done everyone proud. Great Job! and see everyone again next time ;)
